This project welcomes new residents with a bright yellow, civic-association-logo-bearing gift bag that contains local information, brochures, and gifts from local merchants. Of course, to know who’s moving in, the project also has to be alert to For Sale signs and welcomes tip-offs from neighbors.
The WELCOME project started visiting new neighbors in August 2018 and, as of February 2019, had welcomed 43 new families to our neighborhood. During the pandemic, the project continued, welcoming more than two-dozen households with no-contact welcome-bag drop-offs.
