Congratulations to EVERYONE that was entered in, or nominated for our first annual (winter) holiday lights contest! It has been so fantastic driving around the neighborhood this month, we counted over 100 houses with lights up, which is great on these cold winter nights.
First of all, I’d like to thank our Vice President, Mary Moore, for running this contest, and all of the judges (who we will keep anonymous, but I promise there were no rogue electors here!)
No matter what holiday you’re celebrating right now, or even if you’re just celebrating the three day weekend, we here at the Sligo Woods Civic Association want to wish everyone in our great neighborhood a wonderful weekend.
What a beautiful neighborhood we have. It was hard for the judges to choose but without further adieu, here are this years winners.
The Overall Winner: Congratulations!!!
The Best Theme: The nativity scene on one side, a Christmas tree with gifts under it around the corner, and cattle….errr reindeer “lowing” by the fence made this house a winner. Great job!!!
The Best Daytime Decorations:
The Best Nighttime Decorations: What an awesome beacon in the night.
The Best Block (combined): These folks combined to make a great 1-2-3-4 punch of lights, all with different themes.
Honorable Mention: This beautiful wreath setup
Honorable Mention: “Saturday Night Santa” (his big shadow gives this one some serious Christmas Cred)
Honorable Mention: The Holiday Zoo!
(one of these things is not like the other ^^^ )
THANKS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED AND SUPPORTED THIS CONTEST! We’ll do it again soon!
